BACKGROUND

The New Orleans Food Literacy Initiative has launched and is in the pilot year. The Cookbook Project is training and supporting 40 amazing individuals, working in their communities with organizations around the city. Americorps, A’s and Aces, Hollygrove Market, Youth Run Nola, KIPP Charter Schools, The Boys and Girls Club, Oldways, Wilson Charter School, Pentecost Baptist Church, Akili Academy, and Renew School are all participating, and have programs launching in 2015 to build food literacy and cooking skills!
